The Baltimore County Republican Party sympathizes with all families who are victims of drunk drivers. Many lives on Maryland's roads have been ruined and futures lost at the hands of drunk drivers. We feel for the family of Councilman Sam Moxley; hopefully with help and counseling this type of event will not repeat again.

Chris Cavey, Chairman of the Baltimore County Republican Party, reacted to news that Democrat County Councilman Sam Moxley has been charged with his second D.U.I. offense in four years.

"The Baltimore County Council is spiraling out of control with this latest D.U.I. charge, there are now two Democrat Councilmen who have been charged with serious criminal activity and await trials," commented Cavey, referring to Moxley and indicted Democrat Councilman Ken Oliver. "It is time for Councilman Moxley to seek professional help and to step down from his position on the County Council. Our elected officials should be role models, not repeatedly breaking the law and risking injury or death to innocent people."
