Oh Johnny O, Maryland’s very own empty suit!

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Alright, gather ’round econ majors, poli-sci bros, and the one guy in the debate club who still thinks John Kasich has a shot—because today we’re talking about a real visionary in Maryland politics: Johnny Olszewski, aka Johnny O, aka Johnny “Original Thought? Never heard of her.”

This guy is basically the president of the “I saw it on Twitter so it must be policy” club. He’s the human version of a campus flyer for a rally that already happened, still clinging to the wall and shouting things like “TAX THE RICH” while simultaneously voting to tax you. Yes, you. The person just trying to afford gas and a sandwich in the same week.

Let’s rewind to his big moment: Johnny O voted against making the Trump tax cuts permanent. Which, in college terms, is like voting against happy hour. The guy stood there and said, “You know what Maryland families need? Less of their money.” I mean, he looked at a struggling middle-class family and thought, You guys have had it too good for too long.

Luckily, the adults in the room—aka the Republicans from everywhere but here—stepped in and saved the day. So here’s a shout-out to the real MVPs, and especially to our one and only Congressman Andy Harris. The man is basically the last conservative standing at a Maryland cocktail party, and he still manages to vote like Reagan’s watching.

Meanwhile, Johnny O is busy racking up retweets from Resistance Twitter. You know the type: bios that say “#BLM, #RESIST, and Starbucks Gold Member.” These are the same people who believe inflation is fake news unless it’s college tuition, in which case—”it’s systemic oppression.”

Oh, and did I mention Johnny’s arts and crafts project? Yeah, he edited Spiro Agnew’s portrait to add a snarky little Twitter-style insult. Because nothing screams “serious policymaker” like graffiti with a hashtag. What’s next, turning the Maryland State Seal into a meme? “When you’re Vice President but also problematic.”

Look, Johnny doesn’t lead—he logs on. The man couldn’t come up with a fresh idea if it was handed to him in a reusable Whole Foods bag with a sustainable straw and pre-approved by the Sierra Club. If Chuck Schumer said the sky was mauve, Johnny would be on CNN that night talking about the need for sky-color equity.

So once again, thank you to the Republicans who actually understand math, economics, and the concept of not bankrupting the average American. And a big Georgetown fist bump to Andy Harris, who might not be invited to all the cool Democrat wine-and-woke mixers, but at least he isn’t trying to tax your Uber ride and Venmo transactions.
