President Donald J. Trump Signs Executive Order Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections

President Trump Signed Executive Order

This Executive Order is designed to provide fair and secure American elections. It addresses areas of concern that are evident to widespread numbers of citizens.

The Order Requires:

  1. Proof of US Citizenship – Requires documentary, government issued proof of US citizenship on its voter registration forms and for casting of votes.
  • Accurate Voter Rolls – States voter registration list and voter list maintenance activities will be reviewed. States are required to maintain an accurate and current statewide list of every legally registered voter in the State.
  • Verification of Voter Eligibility – Assist States in determining whether individuals are eligible to register and vote. Assists State’s with review and prosecution of aliens unlawfully registered to vote or casting votes.
  • Federal Election Related Funds will go only to the states that comply with the integrity measures set forth by the federal law—as with proof of citizenship, etc.
  • Paper Record of Ballots – Ballots must have a voter-verifiable paper record and prohibits ballots in which the counted vote is contained within a bar code or QR code.
  • Uniform Election Day – Election Day is to be uniform across the nation for federal elections. Votes must be cast and received by the election date established.
  • No Votes To Be Counted after Election Day in federal elections including absentee and Mail-in-Ballots.
  • Certification of Voting Systems – Voting Systems will be re-certified under the new standards and all previous certifications of voting equipment based on prior standards shall be rescinded.
  • Prohibits non-citizens from being involved in the administration of any Federal election. Prevents non-citizens from accessing election equipment, ballots, or any other relevant materials used in the conduct of any Federal election.
  1. Security of Voting Systems – Security of all voter registration and voting systems shall be reviewed to the extent they are connected to, or integrated into, the Internet and report on the risk of such systems being compromised through malicious software and unauthorized intrusions into the system.

11.  Prohibits foreign nationals from contributing or donating in United States elections.

  1. Prohibits lobbying by organizations or entities that have received any Federal funds.
  2. Enforcement by Attorney Generals against States that violate these provisions. Federal funding will cease to States that do not comply with the Federal laws.
  3. Information Sharing Agreements Attorney generals will enter into information-sharing agreements with each State so that election officials can identify cases of election fraud or other election law violations.

We stand with President Trump in his effort to preserve and protect the integrity of American Elections. The Baltimore County Republican Party will work to help implement these reforms in our elections.
