Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to get involved in the 2026 election, whether you want to help elect strong candidates, serve your community at the polls, or help ensure Maryland’s elections are conducted with transparency and integrity. Explore the volunteer opportunities below and sign up for the role that best fits your interests.
- Precinct Volunteer – Supports candidates and voter outreach by knocking doors, making phone calls, distributing campaign literature, and encouraging voter turnout to help elect endorsed candidates.
- Election Judge – A trained, nonpartisan official who administers voting at polling places by setting up and operating the polls, assisting voters, enforcing election procedures, and helping ensure elections are conducted fairly, securely, and according to Maryland law. (Paid Position)
- Closer – An election judge assigned to close the polling place, reconcile election materials and equipment, complete required documentation, and prepare ballots and supplies for secure return to the local board of elections. (Paid Position)
- Poll Watcher – An accredited observer designated by a candidate, political party, or other authorized entity to observe election activities inside the polling place, helping promote transparency while not interfering with the voting process.
